Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has broken her silence regarding the recent Senate controversy that forced her to issue an apology, stating that she remains confused as to how her remarks were interpreted.

Speaking in Kamukunji, Nyamu addressed the incident, describing how the situation escalated in a manner she cannot fully explain. She maintained that her words had been misunderstood and that the reaction took her by surprise.

We are all human, and they should not present themselves as if they are angels,” Nyamu told those gathered. “Recently, there was a blunder I did at the Senate. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the devil or something else? I cannot explain it. I did not mean it the way they are saying.”

She reiterated that the controversy escalated in a manner she still finds inexplicable, and she appealed for understanding from public. “When you make a blunder, we move on because we love each other,” she said. “I love you and your children. Even I am a mother, and I cannot have a problem with other children. God knows.”
