Hollywood Actor Tyrese Gibson En Route to Nairobi After Uganda Visit

American actor and R&B singer Tyrese Gibson has announced he is heading to Nairobi, Kenya, following a three-day official visit to Uganda. 

The Fast & Furious franchise star shared the news on his Instagram, “Tyrese is now on his way to Nairobi, Africa. Kenya I’m on my way.” Gibson’s visit to the region comes as part of a broader effort to reconnect with his African heritage and promote tourism and investment opportunities across the continent.

His three-day stay in Uganda included a high-profile meeting with President Yoweri Museveni at State House, where discussions centred on creative arts, tourism, and the shared historical and cultural ties between Africa and the African diaspora. The Hollywood star also participated in the launch of a campaign an initiative aimed at positioning Uganda as a destination for experiences.

This marks the actor’s return to Uganda, having previously visited in 2012. Gibson, best known globally for his role as Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious film franchise and for R&B hits such as “How You Gonna Act Like That,” has expressed excitement about exploring African culture. In a recent social media post, he said, “I just wanna jump around and embrace the culture“.
