Geoffrey Mosiria Dismisses University Expulsion Claims, UON Letter Confirms Unblemished Record

Geoffrey Mosiria dismissed circulating online rumours claiming he was suspended or expelled from the University of Nairobi (UON), setting the record straight with an official document from the institution’s administration.

Taking to social media from Munich, Germany, Mosiria addressed what he described as a “fake narrative” being pushed by certain individuals online.

“Good morning my good people from Munich Germany!! I have seen some people trying to push a fake narrative online, and I would like to set the record straight,” Mosiria stated in his post. “During my time at the University of Nairobi, I was never suspended or expelled from the institution.”

To corroborate his statement, Mosiria shared an official letter dated November 11, 2024, signed by Eng. Prof. Ayub Gitau, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) at the University of Nairobi.

The letter serves as a comprehensive confirmation of Mosiria’s clean disciplinary and academic record during his time at the institution. According to the document, Mosiria was admitted to the university on September 5, 2011, for a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He successfully completed his studies and was conferred a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option) degree at Second Class Honors (Upper Division) during a congregation held on December 5, 2014.

Furthermore, the letter highlights his active involvement in student leadership, noting that he served as the Secretary for Sports and Entertainment in the Students’ Organization of Nairobi University (SONU).

The university’s records confirm that Mosiria’s time at UON was entirely unblemished. “Based on the information in our records, Geoffrey Mosiria Omatoke did not appear before any disciplinary committee for violation of University rules and regulations. There are no disciplinary actions or incidents recorded about the student up to his graduation in 2014,” the letter from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office reads.

Mosiria said that his academic and leadership track record is a matter of public record. “I was one of the best students in my class, served as a class representative, and also took up a leadership role in SONU. My record as a student speaks for itself, and I remain proud of my journey and the values I carried throughout my university years,” he added.
