MISS MORGAN OPENS UP ABOUT ALCOHOLISM, DEPRESSION AND BEING BROKE WHILE FAMOUS
Former Tahidi High deputy principal Angel Waruinge also known as Miss Morgan made a comeback in the acting scene when she featured in Kina TV series.
The mother of one spoke at to an online show about battling with alcoholism, depression and being broke while trying to keep up with the joneses, “What happened I got comfortable, I was 26, I had become famous and I had the money so I gained weight. I was not prepared enough to know what it takes to be a famous person in Kenya. I had no responsibilities or a child. I started getting lost because there were no challenges in my life.
I thought it was permanent but it’s not, that life has a downward spiral. I was not prepared enough and I started living to the expectation of society. I regret it a lot, I became broke and started living an empty life. I started getting stressed which led to depression, I embraced alcoholism but luckily, I come from a strong family and I have a circle of close friends who checked me.
When I added weight, I lost my self-esteem, I reached rock bottom and when you are there you think how did I get here? But it is a blessing in disguise. I gave myself time to heal and I had to change my environment and moved out of where I was living.”
