BABU OWINO COMES CLEAN ABOUT USING COCAINE AND HEROIN

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has talked about his past struggles with drugs, speaking in an interview, Babu said he has tried all kinds of drugs though he did not see any benefits of using it.

“In my life there is nothing I haven’t consumed, I have tried soft, moderate and hard drugs. Bhang is a hard drug because it can also bring some insanity when consumed in excess. I have also done cocaine, heroin and different brands of alcohol. But that was in my past life and I do accept when you are on drugs you make some decisions which are impaired. There is nothing of benefit with these drugs, if at all it can destroy all your body organs.”

Owino also said Bhang should be legalised and only when its prescribed, “As a youth, you want to know a lot and you are adventurous. You want to use yourself as an experiment and you will make mistakes. But when you make a mistake knowing you are going to make one, that’s a problem.

When you make one not knowing you will, you can be excused.  The reason why people consume bhang is for medicinal value, which it should be legalised and regulated and only used when prescribed. Bhang is also an appetiser and an aphrodisiac but too much of it is not good.

I would like to urge the youths to refrain from drugs. Personally I have consumed everything but I did not see any benefit, it almost lead to my distraction.”
