KAMENE GORO AND SHAFFIE WERU JOIN NRG RADIO

Radio personalities, Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru have been announced as the new hosts of NRG Transit, also joining the station is DJ Pierra Makena who will be working alongside the duo. “Good morning my Loves! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” said Kamene.

In January this year, Kamene left Radio Africa’s Kiss FM after her contract ended, “I have seen these stories, the truth is I was not fired, my contract lapsed and there was no need to move forward with it. I was however sick last year and I followed the protocol, gave in the letters, I never showed up at work sometimes but it is because I was sick. I also never showed up at work intoxicated because I run the desk and you can’t run the desk when you are drunk,”Kamene stated

In March 2021, Shaffie was fired at Homeboyz Radio over victim shaming comments. In a statement released online, the company confirmed the termination of their contracts, “Homeboyz Radio and its parent company, Radio Africa, have terminated the services of Shaffie Weru, Joseph Munoru (DJ Joe Mfalme) and Neville Muysa with immediate effect.

The termination follows a comprehensive review of the comments made on the station on Thursday morning and their subsequent suspension from employment. Our partners and listeners will not be surprised by this action to terminate their services as it is the right thing to do. The comments of said employees, were neither authorised, approved nor cleared with the company nor was the subject discussed and or authorized by the company’s senior leadership. We are deeply disappointed in their conduct.”
