ACTRESS MAMA BAHA RECEIVES A CALL FROM MISSING BROTHER 10 YEARS AFTER ABDUCTION

By  |

Kenyan actress Wanjiku Mburu, popularly known as Mama Baha has once again appealed to the government to intervene in finding her brother and cousin who went missing 10 years ago in Somalia.

George, an engineer, was kidnapped in Mogadishu while on duty in January 2014. In 2017, she penned a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta, seeking to bring attention to the situation.

In a TikTok video posted on October 7, she disclosed that she recently received a phone call from a number registered in Somalia. When she answered, Wanjiku said a man on the line introduced himself as her brother, George.

I received a call with a number from Somali, normally, guys, I don’t take numbers that I don’t know, but this one, it didn’t go for a second ring. I answered and there was the voice on the other side, a voice that I had not heard for 10 years plus. Speaking, sober minded and in  in Swahili sanifu.”

She claims that George described being held in a small, enclosed space throughout his captivity, with his hands in handcuffs. “There is no day, a moment, an hour, where I don’t think of him. I was just fighting the urge to ask and to talk and I kept reminding myself, it’s not about me but him. I could hear the voice, the laugh was his.
