‘I WAS NERVOUS’ AMARA TARI SPEAKS ON WORKING WITH JOHN SIBI-OKUMU IN KASH MONEY

Kenyan actress Amara Tari has opened up about her anxiety working alongside veteran actor John Sibi-Okumu in Netflix’s hit series Kash Money, during a candid interview on Buzz Central Podcast with Cheptoek Boyo.

The young star admitted to initial nerves sharing scenes with the acclaimed thespian. “I had so many conversations with John Sibi-Okumu between takes. Being around someone with that depth of experience made me nervous. I didn’t even know how to ask for advice. So I just listened, letting our chats flow naturally.“

She shared a career lesson from the experience, “You can learn from anyone who has even a year more experience than you.”

Amara revealed she was more open to her co-star Lenana Kariba, “Lenana and I were friends before filming. Having that familiar face on set was comforting. I could tell him ‘I’m so nervous!’ and he’d say, ‘Relax, breathe. Just treat it like a real conversation with someone in that situation.‘”
