AMERICAN MUSICIAN KELIS ACQUIRES 150 ACRES OF FARMLAND IN KENYA
Global music icon Kelis has traded the glamorous Hollywood life for the fertile soils of Kenya.
The Grammy-nominated artist, known for hits like “Milkshake,” recently opened up about her decision to relocate to East Africa during an interview with the Earn Your Leisure podcast.
Kelis has purchased 150 acres of farmland where she plans to develop an eco-conscious empire: Sustainable luxury retreat with wellness spaces and fine dining. Working farm merging California agricultural expertise with African traditions and commitment to ecosystem preservation through responsible development
“Kenya has everything, it’s the hub for East Africa in technology and finance,“ Kelis explained. “You can be far removed in rural areas or in bustling Nairobi. It has the best of both worlds. You can be completely far away in rural or in Nairobi which is a bustling city. Is super safe you can invest money and be here, I live here and it has all the things you need.”
The singer-turned-farmer highlighted key reasons for her choice, “What I learned in California, I’m bringing here.” Kelis is set to expand the farm to 300 acres.
