MP MILLIE ODHIAMBO CALLS FOR ARREST & PROSECUTION OF RUSSIAN MAN

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, has condemned the actions of a Russian national identified as Yaytseslav Trahov, who  filmed intimate encounters with Kenyan women and shared the footage on social media without their consent. The MP is calling for his immediate arrest and prosecution.

The Russian man’s videos, which circulated widely on TikTok and other platforms, show him approaching women in public spaces in Nairobi and persuading them to accompany him to private residences, with the encounters recorded and posted online.

“I wonder what the women implicated in the Russian criminal fiasco are going through with their faces all over social media. I hope the guy is arrested and jailed,” the MP stated .

While condemning the foreigner’s actions, Odhiambo also challenged Kenyan women to reflect on what she described as a tendency to lower their guard when interacting with foreigners perceived to hold higher social status. “That aside, we need to be honest. If a random Kenyan man were to approach a decent Kenyan woman for sex, would she willingly show up without question the way the women did?” she added.

The MP called on women to exercise self respect, “We must decolonize our mind that makes us believe that some races are superior. Secondly, even though we live in a free world, self respect is still paramount,” she concluded.

Kenya’s Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act prohibits the unauthorised publication of intimate images, as well as the Data Protection Act, which safeguards personal privacy.
