MWALIMU RACHEL URGES MOTHERS TO SEEK THERAPY

Media personality Mwalimu Rachel has shared a thought-provoking message to mothers across Kenya. During a recent episode of her popular Kiss FM segment, Mwalimu’s Hot Take, she encouraged women to go therapy before becoming parents.

Mwalimu Rachel argued that many current parents might have chosen differently if they had possessed the self-awareness and emotional tools they have today.

Many of the kids that we have now, and let’s just be honest, are ‘oops babies.’ Yes, they’re here now, and we love them. But if we knew then what we know now the knowledge we have acquired over time many of us ladies who are mothers would probably still be childless and not even mess around with the fathers of these children,” she said.

Mwalimu Rachel said that she fully supports women who consciously choose not to have children. “I stand with my girlies who choose to be childless,” she stated. “What I would advise for you to do is work on your inner child and healing that child. You know for a fact you’re not equipped emotionally, you’re not equipped mentally, to be a mother.

She added that choosing not to parent is not selfish but rather a responsible acknowledgment of one’s own limitations. For women who are already mothers, Mwalimu Rachel did not hold back. She encouraged them to seek professional help to break cycles of trauma.

Maybe we’re not meant to be mothers, some of us because we’ve got issues we still need to resolve before we take on this very heavy responsibility. For those of us who are already moms? Hey, let’s all get into therapy and take it a day at a time.”

She concluded by saying, “The last thing the world needs right now is more adults that are dealing with their childhood trauma and hurt people.
