Kenya’s Pauline Ontita Claims Women’s Open HYROX Title in South Africa

Kenya’s Pauline Ontita has emerged as the Women’s Open champion at the latest HYROX event in South Africa, delivering a stunning comeback performance to claim the title in a time of 1:09:19

Ontita, who had previously secured 3rd place in the PRO division, bounced back in the Open field to stand top of the podium. Her victory adds to an impressive day of elite fitness racing, with athletes from across the region delivering standout performances.

The Men’s PRO title was captured by Kyle Schoonbee in an outstanding 1:00:30, while Danél Louw dominated the Women’s PRO division with a commanding performance, finishing in 1:05:49. In the Men’s PRO Doubles, a fierce battle saw Lucas-bull & du Plessis clinch gold in a tightly contested 56:43 finish.

Speaking after her victory, Ontita thanked her supporters and sponsors. “HYROX women’s champion overall and age category. @firstpower_crossfit @jtportswear and every other individual that contributed to this winning, thank you. On to the next challenge.”
