Police Arrest PCEA Booth Boys High School Principal Over Sexual Abuse Allegations

PCEA Mai-a-Ihii Booth Boys High School has been closed indefinitely following the arrest of its principal and the chairperson of its Board of Management over allegations of sexual abuse involving students

Kikuyu Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Ndege confirmed that the principal has been charged and that investigations remain ongoing. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and record statements from students, teachers, and other witnesses .

In a related development, the school’s BOM chairperson was also arrested over allegations of attempting to obstruct justice by seeking to facilitate an out-of-court settlement with the victims’ families.

The allegations came to light after several students disclosed the alleged abuse to their parents. According to investigators, the alleged incidents occurred inside the principal’s private office, where students were reportedly summoned individually and subjected to unwanted physical contact and sexual advances .

One parent, speaking to NTV, shared the heartbreaking account of her son’s experience, “I talked to my son and he narrated to me what has been happening. How he has been calling them in the office, hugging them, kissing them.”

Another parent recounted the psychological toll the incident has taken on her child, “Personally, my son is traumatised because he’s among those ones that were accosted, and he’s traumatised because the principal had been like a father figure to him, and now he’s wondering how it has all changed, and is being sexually harassed, being handled in an inappropriate manner.

Authorities have confirmed that affected students have received counselling and psychosocial support to help them cope with the trauma arising from the alleged incidents. 

he principal is expected to face charges related to indecent acts involving minors, while the BOM chairperson faces allegations of obstructing justice. Both suspects remain in police custody and are expected to appear in court for formal arraignment .
