NICK NDEDA OPENS UP ABOUT CHEATING ON HIS WIFE MUTHONI GITAU TWICE AND DITCHING HIS BAD BOY PERSONA
Radio and TV personality Nick Ndeda says he was a nice person until he turned bad. According to him good guys finish last and he didn’t like the idea of finishing last.
Ndeda got in bad relationships and almost lost his life, “I was almost stubbed to death, I was chased half way across Mathare by irate youths. I got dangled from a balcony of my own apartment and I also got death threats all from women I dated. Its because I wasn’t being my authentic self, I was trying to be a bad boy around them but the real Nick would sip in. This became a pattern for seven years I was on radio and an actor.”
When he met his wife Muthoni Gitau, he continued with his bad boy behaviour and cheated on her two times, something that he regrets, “When I met her, she was dressed like a punk rock artiste and I am a huge rock fun, the next time I saw her she was in a wedding dress and sneakers running while in a photo shoot. I slid in her DM and we started talking, she was nice which attracted me to her.
But the nice Nick was drowned by the bad boy and bad boys’ cheat. I cheated and tried to hide, she used to smile but then she stopped smiling anytime she would see me. She was angry but gave me another chance, she told me, “I can never look at you the same way when you receive a phone call because I don’t know, could it be someone else you are trying to hook up with?”
After the second cheating she told me, “I wish you had told me who you are because a nice person like me doesn’t deserve this.” That ate me. I tried being a bad boy and all it did was add extraness to my persona that I didn’t need. When I asked her why she forgave me she said, “I didn’t forgive you, I just believed in you.”
That killed me, this person believed in me more than I did in myself. I started taking active steps to be nice again. She would have left but stayed. To this day she has never told me why she stayed, that’s something I think about every morning when I try to rebuild her trust in me.”
