DJ KALONJE TAKES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST OBINNA, DEMANDS PUBLIC APOLOGY

By  |

DJ Kalonje has taken legal action against media personality Obinna following recent defamatory remarks made during an interview.

In a statement, DJ Kalonje expressed his deep disappointment and concern over the incident, stating that his name and brand were unjustly targeted for the sake of generating attention. “It is truly baffling to me how I ended up being dragged into someone else’s interview, let alone why anyone would attempt to tarnish my name and brand for the sake of a few fleeting views and likes,” Kalonje remarked.

My brand is something I take with the utmost seriousness, and I refuse to entertain any form of defamation, whether it’s intended as a joke or not.

DJ Kalonje talked about the importance of maintaining professionalism and respect in public, noting that reckless and harmful statements can have severe consequences for those who have worked tirelessly to establish their reputations. “Your complete disregard for others when you recklessly spew harmful statements about someone else’s brand is not only appalling but utterly irresponsible,” he continued. “I have dedicated years of hard work to building my reputation, and your actions are nothing short of unprofessional and immature.”

The DJ concluded his statement with a formal demand from his lawyer Turunga Ithagi Associates, “On 19th August, you posted a video on your YouTube channel, Obinna TV extra with the above mentioned title, where you stated that the director of our client, one DJ Kalonje cannot play live mixes despite the same not being true, note that your actions of making such utterances amount to defamation and are a threat to our client’s business and brand, with regards to current and future bookings,” read the demand letter.

Kalonje demanded that Obinna should apologise to him live on air. “Our client has therefore instructed us to demand, which we hereby do, that you immediately and unconditionally apologise to our client’s director, live on air for knowingly making the false utterances.

Take note that should you fail to admit liability and make good of our clients demand within seven days from the date of your recipients, hereof we shall proceed to institute the requisite legal proceedings against you at your own cost, risks and consequences.”
