Lawyer Donald Kipkorir Fires Back at Catherine Jerono’s Defamation Threat Over NTSA Fine Post
Prominent city lawyer Donald Kipkorir has responded to a demand letter from Catherine Jerono Tomno, the KCB banking agent whose name appeared on a viral NTSA traffic fine payment receipt, stating he looks forward to the legal battle.
In a statement, Kipkorir said that Catherine was “misadvised” to pursue legal action against him. He confirmed that he has instructed her lawyers to proceed with filing a suit. “I have told her lawyers to file suit. Looking forward to the suit so that we trace where the NTSA fines go to!” Kipkorir stated.

The dispute stems from a June 30 post on Kipkorir’s verified X account, where he questioned why an NTSA traffic fine payment appeared to have been credited to an account bearing Tomno’s name . The post, shared with his over 1.5 million followers, included screenshots of a payment confirmation and raised concerns over whether government institutions were using accounts registered in private individuals’ names.
Through Limo & Njoroge Advocates, Tomno issued a demand letter accusing Kipkorir of defamation, arguing that the post falsely portrayed her as being involved in fraud and corruption. Her lawyers explained that she is a licensed KCB Bank agent operating at KCB Freedom Heights along Lang’ata Road, and that her name appeared on the receipt because she facilitated the transaction on behalf of a customer who paid an NTSA fine through official banking channels.
The demand letter gave Kipkorir three hours to remove the post, issue a public apology, and pay compensation for repetitional damage. Her lawyers warned that failure to comply would result in a defamation suit seeking general, aggravated and damages.
