REBECCA CHEPTEGEI’S ACCUSED ATTACKER DICKSON NDIEMA SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

Dickson Ndiema, the man accused of setting Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei on fire, has died. 

His passing comes just days after Cheptegei succumbed to the severe injuries from the horrific assault that stunned the community. Ndiema died late Monday night while receiving treatment at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, where he had been in the intensive care unit since the incident. 

Both Ndiema and Cheptegei were admitted to the same facility after the tragic attack that took place at Cheptegei’s home in Trans Nzoia, Kenya. Ndiema allegedly doused Cheptegei in petrol and set her on fire, leaving her with life-threatening burns. The assault also left Ndiema with serious burn injuries. 

Cheptegei sustained more than 80 percent burns, while Ndiema suffered over 30 percent burns, according to medical reports.
