CASHMEER SAYYID ISSUES PUBLIC APOLOGY FOLLOWING FAKE WEDDING BACKLASH
Social media influencer and entrepreneur Cashmeer Sayyid has issued a public apology following backlash over her controversial fake wedding stunt, which left guests confused and disappointed after discovering they had actually attended a training institute launch disguised as a marriage ceremony.
The event, held last weekend was initially believed by attendees to be Cashmeer’s wedding to a man named Bollington. However, it was later revealed to be a symbolic ceremony meant to raise awareness about underage marriage a cause close to Cashmeer’s heart.
In an emotional apology on Radio Jambo and her social media platforms, Cashmeer expressed regret over the misunderstanding, stating, “I’m very sorry. My greatest hope was for my guests to leave with joy in their hearts, saying the food was nice, the decor was good, and that they enjoyed themselves. When I learned that many felt cheated, it became my obligation to apologize, I feel terrible that this was their experience.“
Cashmeer clarified that the wedding was never real, admitting she is not even dating. Instead, she intended to use the event to spark conversations about social issues affecting young women.
She also announced plans to launch a new business venture: a luxury rental platform where fans can rent clothes, shoes, and bags from celebrities who don’t repeat outfits. “I want to create a website where people can rent high-end fashion from celebrities, helping them recoup costs while making luxury accessible,” she explained.
