POLICE BUST COUNTERFEIT HONEY RING IN NAIROBI 

n a crackdown on illicit goods, police officers from the Nairobi Region have uncovered an illicit operation producing counterfeit honey. The raid, conducted on October 6, 2025, targeted a residential premise in the Umoja 2 area of Buruburu Estate.

The sting operation led to the arrest of one suspect found on the premises. A subsequent search of the facility uncovered a range of items used in the manufacturing of the fake honey product.

Recovered exhibits include: Numerous containers of finished counterfeit honey, packaged for sale. Chemical substances used in the production process. A heating coil and a gas cylinder.

“The suspect is being held at Ruai Police Station pending arraignment in court. Operations targeting counterfeit food products and other illicit goods are continuing as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and consumer safety,” read the police statement.
