BUZZ CENTRAL WINS ENTERTAINMENT & VIDEO CREATOR CATEGORIES AT BAKE AWARDS 

Top news site Buzz Central has won two awards at the BAKE Awards 2025. They took home prizes for Entertainment Creator and Video Creator.

The awards show took place on December 13th at the Baraza Media Lab in Nairobi. The theme was “Reclaiming Our Digital Space.“

For the first time, the top Creator of the Year award was a tie. It went to both The JoyRide Podcast and Sarah Njoroge. Sarah Njoroge also won the award for Best Agricultural Creator.

Other winners included Tech Trends for technology, Pepeta for sports, and Nairobi Lifestyle as the best new creator. In a speech, BAKE Chairman Kennedy Kachwanya said Kenyan online content is now better than ever. He asked creators to keep making honest and creative work across different platforms.

The nominees for this year’s BAKE Awards reflect the growth of the Kenyan digital creator community over the years. From its early focus on blogging, the awards have evolved to embrace a diverse array of creators across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify among others. The nominees in the awards spanned sectors such as Public Health, Business, Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Photography.

I know it is not an easy job doing what you do, constantly serving your audience with the new content. I sit in the digital marketing space, and I understand what it takes to do what you do. Thank you for giving your best in the digital world and see you again next year.”

The awards started with public nominations in September. Judges picked the top five in each category, and then the public voted for the winners. Plans for the BAKE Awards 2026 are already starting, with the event set for next June.
