Obinna Rewards Gachau Njoroge with KSh 50,000 Despite Vurugu 2 Loss
In an unexpected twist following Saturday’s Vurugu 2 boxing event, organiser Oga Obinna has announced a personal cash reward of KSh 50,000 for bodybuilder Gachau Njoroge, despite his knockout defeat at the hands of Phil Castro.
While Gachau walked away from the ring without the KSh1 million prize that went to the winner, Obinna said that his contribution to the event had not gone unnoticed. During a conversation with the fighter, Obinna explained that he personally wanted to acknowledge Gachau’s efforts and commitment to the fight, assuring him that the bonus was a token of appreciation for stepping into the ring and giving the fans a memorable fight.
Gachau also broke his silence regarding the harrowing experience, speaking publicly for the first time since being rushed to the hospital on Saturday night. The athlete, who was attended to by medics at the venue before being transported to Avenue Hospital, revealed that his condition upon arrival was more serious than many realised.
Medical staff discovered that his oxygen levels had dropped to dangerously low levels, prompting immediate intervention. Speaking on the Obinna Show, Gachau reassured his fans and well-wishers that he is now recovering, explaining that his breathing had been severely compromised during the fight, which led to the medical emergency.
He confirmed that he is currently stable and grateful.
