The Office of the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya has issued a public warning over the fake social media accounts falsely claiming to represent former President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former First Family.

In a statement released on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, and signed by Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo, the Office moved to set the record straight regarding the online presence of the former Head of State and his family.

The statement clarified that the Office operates only two official social media accounts: a Facebook page and an X (formerly Twitter) account, both operating under the name “Office of the 4th President of the Republic of Kenya” with the username @4thPresidentKE. “These are the only official social media platforms authorised to communicate on behalf of the Office of the 4th President,” the statement read.

the Office clarified that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, and their children do not operate any personal social media accounts.

The public has therefore been advised to exercise extreme caution and disregard any social media accounts, pages, or profiles purporting to represent or speak on behalf of the former First Family. “The public is urged to rely only on these official platforms for authentic information and communication concerning the former President and the former First Family,” the statement added.

The warning comes amid growing concerns over the spread of misinformation online, with the Office seeking to protect the public from impersonators and safeguard the integrity of the former First Family’s communications.
