‘It Hurts So Bad’ Kathy Kiuna Shares Raw Reflection on Losing Husband Allan Kiuna
More than two years after the passing of her husband and ministry co-founder, Bishop Allan Kiuna, Kathy Kiuna has shared an emotional reflection on the pain of loss, urging the public to cherish the people in their lives while they still can.
In a social media post, the Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) leader wrote: “Sometimes it hurts so bad. I think losing a loved one is one of the most painful situations one can ever encounter.”
Kathy, who assumed leadership of JCC following her husband’s death alsostated, “Fighting for things is easier because you are in it together and things come and go. After every fight you get stronger anyway,” she wrote. “When they are gone, they are gone.“
The post concluded with a plea to her followers: “Please treasure your loved ones and make great memories. Don’t take each other for granted. Selah.“
Bishop Allan died on July 9, 2024, at a Nairobi hospital after a prolonged battle with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells. He was 58. His death came months after he had publicly declared himself cancer-free during a thanksgiving service in December 2023.
In the weeks following her husband’s burial, she told congregants that grief had left her “all over the place,” adding, “Please just allow me to be all over the place” .
She continues to lead JCC as its bishop, a role she was ordained into shortly after Bishop Allan’s passing .
