HARMONIZE SPEAKS AFTER DRAMATIC ARREST

By  |

Tanzanian Bongo star Rajab Abdul Kahali alias Harmonize has hit out at Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi for being a con promoter using his name for personal financial gains without his knowledge.

Speaking after his release from Kileleshwa Police Station following an arrest on grounds of dishonouring his contract, the Konde Music Worldwide owner stated that Eric had duped him of money supposed to be his payment after an appearance at Cocorico Club in Nairobi .  He said he was supposed to make a guest appearance and not perform at the club.

According to Harmonize, Eric had pretended that he and his sister co-owned the club, and his appearance was meant to hype it. “As a brother, Eric told me to come and support one of the clubs. For me I see it as a long relationship, and I thought it was a win-win situation because Eric is respected in the industry.

Money is nothing because I knew he will support me tomorrow in another way, but he misused my name, took the money, and told Cocorico Club management that Harmonize will come to perform. After my show in KICC, he told me to pass by the club, which he co-owns with his sister, but I was shocked when the club’s management came to me in the morning and said that I was paid to perform, which is not true,” he narrated.

Despite his efforts to talk with the management and refund the money, he was taken to Kileleshwa Police Station, where he cooled his heels for nearly four hours before he was set free after former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko bail him out. The singer was scheduled to perform in Mombasa on the night after his release.

Eric accused the Jeshi crooner of assaulting him inside a police station, leaving him bleeding with a busted lip. Going by a viral video circulating online, Harmonize is heard criticising the comedian for greed, alleging that he was paid only 40 percent of the money, yet he was the performing artist. He denied assaulting the comedian.
