KUNA UKABILA SANA! WILLY PAUL FRUSTRATED WITH BOOMPLAY MUSIC
Controversial singer Will Paul has come out guns blazing at Boomplay Music. He lashed out at the music streaming platform claiming tribalism and deceit is rife at the company. Willy Paul was on Twitter sharing details about a deal gone sour.
“The shit happening in this industry is just too much! Kuna ukabila na who knows who! I’m not perfect yes, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll just sit and watch fools disrespecting my hard work!” He stated.
Willy Paul went on to add that his music has been topping charts on Boomplay, tweeting, “Some of you have seen my music on Boomplay Music and even my music topping there charts sometimes. Been working with them for the longest time and ever since I signed with them, they’ve never acknowledged shit!”
So, what gripe does Willy Paul have with Boomplay Music? Well, he clears the air by saying, “We’ve shared business ideas, asked them for sponsorships but all in vain! For close to 3 years they’ve been asking us to send proposals which we’ve been sending but they always look for ways to delays us only to tell us that the proposals don’t touch on the things they want.”
On claims about tribalism and nepotism, he has hit the company by saying, “The company has turned into a family business, where kuna watu wanasaidiwa and kuna watu wale ni taka taka kama mimi! This people made me delay my album Songs of Solomon and still turned us down!”
The artist has said that requests for sponsorship have been turned down so many times yet other artists are getting sponsored.
The Roho Mbaya singer has stated that he will be taking down all his content on Boomplay Music, since according to him, they don’t care about the artist. Of course, in classic Willy Paul he ended the tweet with an insult I can’t write.
Boomplay Music is yet to respond to the allegations.
