TSC SUSPENDS ALLIANCE GIRLS TEACHER ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ABUSE
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has suspended Peter Albert Ayiro, a teacher at Alliance Girls High School, following allegations of sexual abuse involving students.
The 30-day suspension is effective July 15, 2025 to allow for further investigations into the matter. The allegations came to light following an investigative report by Africa Uncensored, which revealed disturbing claims that Mr. Ayiro, who also serves as the school’s Christian Union patron, engaged in the grooming of vulnerable female students. The report further alleged that he hosted students at his residence on school premises under the guise of religious activities.
On July 10, 2025, alumni of Alliance Girls High School staged a peaceful protest outside the school gates, demanding immediate action against the accused teacher. In response, Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok called for the teacher’s arrest, stating, “That teacher is going to be punished. We have talked to TSC and all the other stakeholders to ensure that he is arrested.”
Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya (FIDA-Kenya) also intervened, calling the Ministry of Education to hold the school accountable for its failure to protect students.
“The Board of Management of Alliance Girls High School acts swiftly and transparently to investigate these serious allegations against Mr. Peter Ayiro and take immediate action to protect the students and ensure accountability. The Ministry of Education holds the school accountable for its failure to safeguard students from harm and initiates disciplinary and legal action against those responsible for enabling this abuse.”
