The family of reggae hype man and entertainer John Maina, popularly known as MC Fullstop, has made an appeal to the public for financial support as they prepare to lay him to rest.

The celebrated MC passed away on August 1, 2025, after a long and difficult battle with tuberculosis. His family described him as “a man who brought light, laughter, and unforgettable energy to everyone around him.”

As they navigate this painful loss, they are calling on friends, fans, and well-wishers to assist in giving him a dignified farewell. The family has set up official Paybill number 6624502) for contributions, saying that all funds will go directly toward funeral expenses and supporting his loved ones during this challenging time. The family has also issued a caution: Please do NOT send money to any other number,” to avoid scams.

In 2021, MC Fullstop was diagnosed with tuberculosis, which later led to the complete collapse of his left lung. Still, he pushed through. Then in 2022, another devastating blow followed throat TB, which robbed him of the very tool that had built his legacy- his voice. “My left lung has totally collapsed, nimebaki na moja. In 2021 I was diagnosed with TB ya lungs ikasosi lungs kabisa. 2022 nikapata TB ya throat nayo ikanimaliza sauti, running, walking, kuongea ni shida,” he revealed in a 2023 post on X (formerly Twitter).
