KENYA’S ANGEL ATIENO SECURES 3RD PLACE AT OUR GENERATION SINGING COMPETITION IN MOSCOW

Kenya’s rising star, Angel Atieno, has raised the nation’s flag on the global stage, securing a remarkable 3rd place finish at the 2025 Our Generation International Singing Competition in Moscow, Russia. 

The multi-talented performer earned this prestigious accolade with her original song, Nyota, “First and foremost, I thank God for everything, His grace has carried me through every step of this amazing journey.” She extended a special thanks to the competition organisers, noting, “A heartfelt thank you to @ourgeneration.official for giving me the opportunity… it has been a season of immense learning and growth.”

Her journey to international recognition began during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns, when a young Angel turned to music, sharing soulful covers on social media. Her powerful voice resonated with millions, amassing over a million followers on both TikTok and Facebook and laying the foundation for her entertainment career.

Angel is a versatile performer. She made her screen debut on Citizen TV’s hit drama Zora, which aired from 2021 to 2022, introducing her to national 

audiences. Today, she is the bright and confident host of NTV Kenya’s G3 Kids Show, a voice-over artist, and a recording musician.

Reflecting on her time in Moscow, Atieno added. “Along the way, I’ve built beautiful friendships with fellow participants from different parts of the world bonds that remind me how powerful music and art are in uniting hearts beyond borders.”
