KENYA AIRWAYS WELCOMES SABASTIAN SAWE HOME WITH WATER SALUTE AT JKIA

Kenya Airways, celebrated the triumphant return of world record holder Sabastian Sawe with a ceremonial water salute at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Upon arrival, Sawe was greeted with the prestigious aviation tribute a water cannon arch over the aircraft symbolizing a hero’s welcome. Kenya Airways captured the moment on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Carrying Kenya’s pride home. As the national carrier, we are honoured to bring home world record holder Sabastian Sawe, marking a moment of national pride. Welcomed with a water salute at JKIA, a fitting tribute to an extraordinary achievement.”

The reception was attended by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Salim Mvurya, alongside Kenya Airways Group Company Secretary Habil Waswani, and other key stakeholders.

“Moments like these remind us of the power of sport tourism in bringing a nation together and inspiring future generations,” the airline noted in a statement. Added to that the crew took pride in hosting Sawe, “It was a proud moment for our crew to welcome Sabastian Sawe onboard, celebrating a journey that continues to inspire a nation.”
