Hali Oduor Opens Up on Choosing Childfree Life with Husband Nathan
Digital creator Hali Oduor has opened up about her decision to live a childfree life with her husband, Nathan.
In the post, Oduor shared that the decision was one she and Nathan made “thoughtfully and together,” describing their life as full and fulfilling. “Child-free. Guilt-free. Just us, forever,” she wrote, referencing a caption from a recent post that sparked widespread conversation. “Choosing not to have children was a decision that Nathan and I have made thoughtfully and together. Our life is full: full of each other, full of family and friends, full of work we love and a home we are slowly creating together.”
Oduor was careful to clarify that her post was neither a debate nor advice to others, but simply an honest reflection of her own path. “This is not an argument, nor is it advice. This is just our life, our decision, our path that we’re taking, honestly shown,” she said, inviting her followers to swipe through her post to see the assumptions people make versus what is actually true for her and Nathan.
The creator engaged her audience by asking which misconception they had heard most, and extended an invitation to others living childfree lives to share how they respond to similar assumptions. “Which misconception have you heard (or maybe thought) most? Tell me in the comments and if you are childfree too, I would love to hear how you answer it,” she wrote.
Her post adds to a growing public conversation around voluntary childlessness and the social expectations placed on couples, particularly in cultural contexts where having children is often treated as a default life.
