Actor Nick Kwach Awarded National Heroes Medal During Mashujaa Day Celebrations
Actor Nick Kwach was on Tuesday presented with a Hero’s Medal by President Dr. William Samoei Ruto at a ceremony held at The State Lodge in Eldoret.
The honour was conferred alongside H.E. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, in recognition of Kwach’s status as a National Hero. The award, presented through the National Heroes Council, comes as Kwach marks his 16th year as an actor and professional artist.
In a statement following the ceremony, he said the recognition validates years of dedication to his craft and reinforces his commitment to paving the way for others in the industry. “This recognition through the National Heroes Council validates years of determination and dedication to the craft and solidifies the need to continue creating a path,” Kwach said.
“This is also a representation of the collective effort of everyone that has made the journey possible, especially everyone at @thecronyproductions, whose work has been recognised.”
The actor dedicated the honour to his team and collaborators, saying that the medal reflects a shared achievement rather than an individual one. The ceremony coincided with Kenya’s Mashujaa Day, a national holiday set aside to celebrate the country’s heroes. The National Heroes Council is the statutory body mandated to identify, honour, and celebrate Kenyans who have made outstanding contributions to the nation.
