NYASHINSKI TALKS ABOUT HIS TOUGH LIFE IN UNITED STATES AND HOPES FOR HIS SON

By  |

Nyashinski had disappeared for a while in the music scene before coming back with bangers such as Mungu Pekee and Bebi Bebi. In an interview with Senator Johnson Sakaja, the MTV EMA nominated artist spills the beans on his time away from music while struggling to survive in the US.

Before I left Kenya, I was a star in the sense of the word. I was well-known and we as Kleptomaniax were doing what we love.

So, you come from being a star where people know you and you even get a few favours here and there to a place where no one knows you. No special treatment, you have to work and if you don’t you won’t even get a meal,” he says.

He adds that it was also a lonely time, “It humbled me and also going from a situation where I had so many people around me to another extreme which is truck-driving.

When I’m driving a truck, I’m by myself and it’s long distances. In 24 hours, you interact with another human 10-15 minutes max so you’d really savour those few minutes talking with someone.”

Nyashinski talks about his family saying, “I have one child, a boy, who is now 2 months old. My greatest hope is for my kid to live a happy, healthy life and to have a good name.”
